I
dream of fire and a billion brilliant colors melting into each other...
Each handmade glass bead is created over a duel
fueled torch with a pencil thin rod of glass and a stainless steel mandrel. Most of the glass that I use is
imported, although some of my most treasured rods of glass are the silver laden
ones that have come from the furnaces of Double Helix Glass and R4 Glass in the states. My
flameworked glass
beads (lampwork) are made either for my own designs or for other jewelry designers. I pair
them with
findings of sterling silver, gold-filled or vermeil
(silver electroplated with 22 K gold), pure
copper, swarovski crystals, hand-dyed silk
ribbons and a myriad of
other materials. I create one of a kind bracelets,
pendants and earrings.
My work is now being
sold in spas, shops and galleries in British Columbia as well as parts
of western Alberta.
Currently I have some loose beads available in my 'Etsy' shop, an online
resource for artists and artisans.
I stand behind my work.
I derive great satisfaction knowing that I've made pieces that are both beautiful to look at and
comfortable to wear. If you're interested in learning more or would like to have
something custom made for you, please do contact me. I'm happy to hear from
you.
